Blueair air purifiers are truly a global brand, Blueair distribute product around the world and have to be conscious of and adhere to the safety and quality standards set by different regions Blueair carry the safety marks CE, S, ETL, Japanese S mark, KC mark, C tick and CCC mark, these are explained below and are a testament to Blueair air purifiers professional standards and the quality of the air purifiers.

Blueair units comply with essential requirements for electronic appliances, encompassing health & safety, function and environment. Blueair units have followed prescribed control procedure of the varying standards found in the countries where our products are sold.
Background. Certain product safety standards, industry requirements and conformity to local requirements are mandatory in many markets before a product can be sold. Standards are not only for safety but also for opening market opportunities and assuring quality of the product.

Standards and certifications

All Blueair air purifiers are safety and quality certified. Blueair is responsible for certifying all units to comply for international markets with CE mark, S mark, CB Scheme and ETL mark protocols. Certain national standards are controlled by the distributors responsible for the market.

CE mark
For markets within the European Economic Area (EEA), all products sold need to be CE marked. With the CE mark, the manufacturer ensures that the product complies with essential requirements of EU directives including health, safety, function and environment. The CE mark assures that prescribed control procedure has been applied.

S mark
The S mark certifies that a product complies with European safety standards for fire, electric shock, mechanical injuries, radiation injuries, burns and certain types of environmental damage. Certifying a product with S mark is voluntary. Tests and certifications are performed independently and can function as a complement to the CE mark.

CB scheme
Electrical and electronic products require safety certification for each country where it is sold. However, standards and requirements are different for every market. The CB Scheme is an international program that facilitates safety tests for a product to comply with standards in over 50 countries. The CB test report certifies safety of electrical and electronic products in accordance to international (IEC) standards and national regulations.

ETL mark
A product bearing the ETL mark complies with North American safety standards and has met the U.S. minimum requirements. The mark indicates that the manufacturer’s production conforms to set standards and is continuously inspected. Only laboratories recognized by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are allowed to test and certify products for the ETL mark.

Japanese S mark
The Japanese S mark is a voluntary certification administered in Japan for electrical products. Tests are conducted in accordance with the standards J60335-1, J60335-2-65 and J55014-1. This means that the products comply with material control law and the Japanese product liability law. The certification is issued by a third part certification body that is a member of the Steering Council of Safety Certification for Electrical and Electronic Appliances and Parts of Japan (SCEA).

KC mark
The KC mark is mandatory for certain electrical products sold in South Korea. The purpose for the KC mark is to protect consumers from the hazardous aspects of appliances (electric shock, fires, mechanical, thermal, radiation and chemical hazards etc.) The KC mark also includes a factory inspection once a year.

C-tick mark
The C-tick is registered to The Australian Communications Authority (ACMA). The mark certifies compliance with EMC standards and indicates a traceable link between the product and the supplier that is responsible for placing the product on the Australian market.

CCC mark
Many products being exported to or sold in the Peoples Republic of China market requires the
China Compulsory Certification (CCC) mark. The mark is a safety and quality system administered by the Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA). Testing include tests on product samples and inspections of the manufacturing facilities.

Why do you need an air purifier?

February 16, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

You need an air purifier because we breathe 20,000 litres of air every day and the air can contain particles which are not healthy.

The air is full of particles that derive from different sources, the majority of these particles are so small that they can actually enter our blood stream, some of these particles can trigger for asthma and allergy symptoms.

We believe that an air purifier is now an essential item for households, offices and public indoor places, everyone needs to improve the indoor air quality to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Indoor air quality is often worse than the outdoor air, especially in the most industrialised cities and towns, and we spend approximately90% of our time indoors.

Polluted air is harmful to your health and can cause symptoms such as asthma, allergy, heart & vascular decease, fatigue, nausea, headache, respiratory decease and more.

Blueair air purifiers are the most effective at removing these particles which are suspended in the air, they are also the quietest air purifiers on the market and unlike the cheap plastic models are built to last, where else can you get a 5 year guarantee?

Blueair air purifiers warning to pregnant Mothers

Blueair warns pregnant mothers that escaping indoors to avoid outdoor traffic pollution may not always be the best health option.

Stockholm, February 7, 2012 – Blueair, the leading maker of indoor air purifiers, warns that new research by a top Swedish university, indicating traffic and ozone pollution causes more premature births than the mother smoking, could mislead people to believe that their indoor air is free of pollutants. Blueair says that contrary to what many believe, indoor air is often far more polluted – and harmful to health – than the air outside.

“The study of pregnant mothers by Umeå University indicates high levels of traffic exhaust fumes and ozone can lead to a bigger risk of premature birth than the mother smoking. But solving the problem is not as easy as just staying inside. The build-up of polluted air indoors poses a major threat to health and wellbeing that many people don’t know about,” said Jonas Holst, Blueair Head of Sales and Marketing.

Describing the new findings as very worrying, Holst said the Umeå University research reflects just the tip of an iceberg and to get rid of the problem people need to take measures to clean their indoor air far more than today. “Our homes and offices are constantly being bombarded by high levels of airborne pollutants that most people are unaware about,” he said. The US Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, has stated indoor air levels of many pollutants may be more than 100 times higher than outdoor levels. Air pollutants in buildings are of particular concern because most people spend as much as 90% of their time indoors, according to the EPA.

Blueair is currently launching a campaign in Europe, Asia and the USA to help raise public awareness about the health dangers of indoor air pollution. The campaign is designed to also show how people can dramatically remove 99.97% of everything potentially harmful, including traffic exhaust particles and other allergens.

“It’s amazing that modern cars are fitted with air filters to protect drivers and passengers, but little is done to improve healthy air conditions inside our buildings where we live and work,” says Jonas Holst.

Blueair indoor air cleaners have consistently emerged top of strict independent tests carried out by the global air cleaner standard CADR, which have been conducted by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM). The testing shows that Blueair air purifiers clean more indoor faster than any competing air purifier.

Sold in over 50 countries around the world, Blueair air purifiers deliver cleaner indoor air for enhanced user health and wellbeing in homes and offices more efficiently than any competing product. A Blueair air purifier, innovated in Sweden, works silently to remove allergens, asthma triggers, viruses, bacteria and other airborne pollutants from all indoor environments. Founded in 1996, Blueair has production facilities in China, Sweden and the USA. Dust has doubled, buy a Blueair air purifier!

February 2, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

What we’ve been hearing at Air Comfort Centre for years has just been scientifically documented — airborne dust has doubled worldwide in the 20th century.

There’s a scientific reason it seems for why we can’t get rid of the dust in our homes. Droughts and desertification in Africa, climate change, loss of forests and human activity has resulted in a doubling of airborne dust. The study has been done in America and the New York Times recently reported this phenomenon based on research from the Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics Journal which has studied the issue as a worldwide phenomenon. Even the oceans are affected.
That’s a lot of extra dust for people with allergies and asthma to deal with, oddly, cleaning is one of the primary sources of household dust. Settled dust becomes airborne when we clean. Cooking is the second source and movement through the house is the third. Wood-burning fireplaces are also a big source of particulates getting into the air we breathe.
Even if you clean often, dust settles on everything.

The problem for our lungs is that every step or movement taken in a house or office disturbs the tiny particles (dirt, soot, skin, pollens, dust etc) and they stay suspended in the air.
We’re asked nearly every day if there’s an air purifier that will eliminate the need for household dusting. We wish there were! You still have to dust, but you should have an air purifier running on high while you are vacuuming and dusting because everything becomes airborne.

Use of HEPA air purifiers, and wet cloth cleaning will help reduce the dust. We recommend Blueair air purifiers, for homes, they are the most efficient and are definitely best air purifiers available in the world today!
